Fast Break Music Your Digital Conselour

Fast Break helps upcoming artists develop buzz in the industry with placement opportunities, radio campaigns, and multiple outlets of promotion. We strive for the highest quality undiscovered music pushing forward into new media concepts in an always changing music industry.

How We Help

Have you ever tried to submit your music to a film? Have you ever tried to get your music played on the radio? As an artist (band), doing this may be hard. Let’s face it, there are more and more bands forming which means less and less opportunity. A music supervisor will not deal one on one with thousands of bands…So, what will they do? They work with companies that can provide relevant music for their current projects. They do not take unsolicited music. This is how Fast Break can help you.

Fast Break works with a large range of players in the music industry. We work with ALL opportunities that will benefit an artist. Such as, placements that pay for your music or write ups in magazines. We take advantage of any press or exposure available for an artist. Below is a list of the type of companies in which we work.

Film

Feature Films

Fast Break shops your material for Synch licensing opportunities in feature films. Whether the opportunity lies in a trailer placement, ten to thirty second spot, beginning or end title credit or viral video promotion for film projects, Fast Break seeks out, negotiates, and executes licensing opportunities on a daily basis for its artists.

Documentaries

Documentaries are not only a great opportunity for a synchronization and master use but also a great form of branding. Documentaries focus on social and global awareness issues. This is an amazing way for an artist to get exposed to a niche market they may yet have not had visibility in. The value of being attached to a relevant cause is a wonderful method for artists to gain new fans outside of their targeted market.

Short Films

Although the financial benefit of participating in a short may not be as lucrative as a feature or a documentary, Fast Break is committed to leaving no stone unturned for potential exposure of an artist. Exposure in this ever changing music market can be as crucial as a high paying project. Mass exposure results into sales conversions with mp3 downloads, unique visits to URL's, merchandise sales, and online visibility.

Television

Series

Sync and Master licensing for TV series is one of the greatest and fastest ways and artist can elevate themselves to the next level, as well as, earn money!

Webisodes/New Media Placement

With the advent of online television, an entirely new kind of opportunity for music licensing was created. The power of the web has created a vast distribution avenue for filmmakers, television producers and musical acts. Fast Break exhibits knowledge of new cutting edge technologies. We are constantly seeking out the next placement with high exposure, via, the world wide web.

Gaming

Music licensing for video game use is an interesting and specific process. Typically the music you hear in video games is composed alongside the game as it is developed so that the two blend together as a cohesive whole. Popular music is typically licensed in sports oriented games that have a new release each year. Fast Break not only works with artists to get their material licensed in that style of gaming, but also pitches individual composers for various opportunities in gaming.

Publishing

Fast Break works with publishers to optimize any opportunities for our artists. This includes working to get artists signed with different publishers. We feel the more people you have shopping your music, the better the chance for a placement. Fast Break does not take a percentage thus we can work with any exclusive or nonexclusive publisher.

Music Supervisors

Having a quality and effective relationship with a music supervisor is essential when seeking out a licensing opportunity. A Music Supervisor is the gatekeeper for your music. Their typical duties include the selection and clearance of music material for their projects and to gaurantee that material in turn works for the director/producer. Fast Break employs a vast network of Music Supervisors to provide relevant material for any project.

Sync and Master Licensing

Synch and Master licensing are terms specific to the contractual process of placing a piece of music into film. Synchronization licensing refers to putting a piece of music to any moving picture. Master licensing refers to obtaining rights to the original master recording of a piece of material to be placed in media. When placement occurs, upfront money for licensing gets cut in half. One portion goes to each and both licenses must be obtained by the music user. Fast Break insures for our clients the ability to clear both licenses under one roof.

Radio

Program Directors

The Radio Program Director directs and coordinates daily radio station operations. The PD develops, schedules, and supervises the production and recording of all programs. They work hand in hand with the Music Director who searches through artist submissions selecting artists that fit the format. We have established relationships with all of our Music and Program Directors. These relationships are crucial to getting music heard and played. Fast Break provides service to the Program Directors with a relevant music library.

Satellite Radio

Satellite Radio is a great outlet for artists, as it is demographically based and not limited by market. The listener can tune into a station from anywhere in the world without losing signal. Also, with the commercial free programming and larger amount of available channels, a significant amount of unsigned artists are played and featured gaining exposure directly to their specific demographic. Fast Break has access to a vast amount of satellite radio stations.

College Radio

College Radio ranges from a small to large market. For artists without a large marketing budget, these are channels needed to begin creating buzz. Eventually, artists will ascend to rotation on CMJ{College Music Journal} stations so they can be charted and recognized professionally in the music world. We have the ability to begin the step by step process pushing our artists up the radio ladder.

Specialty Shows

Specialty shows are cool for featuring more obscure music of the up and coming non mainstream artists. They also offer reviews, on air interviews, and are always open to submissions of new artists keeping themselves ahead of the game. With our compilation of specialty shows, we can work hand in hand by promoting artists and maximizing their exposure.

Internet Radio

Internet radio is another great tool. They are usually commercial free and broadcast specifically to a demographic, not a market, due to the accessibility of the internet. With larger internet channels (Pandora and GrooveShark) there can be fees involved in having your song streamed. With smaller channels artists can submit there music digitally to the host of the show. We have established relationships with many of the larger stations and an ability to have artists added and 'spun.'

Podcasts

Podcasts come in many different forms, from individuals, to published Podcasts which are available on iTunes. These are good to use for reviews especially with published Podcasts as they obviously have a larger audience.

Record Labels

Fast Break filters applicable talent to Record labels when the opportunity of roster expansion arises. When it comes to a signing, there must be a 'perfect fit' between an artist and a label. Fast Break creates that perfect time and place to create an opportunity.

Managers

There comes a point in an artist’s career when a threshold has been passed. That threshold usually involves hiring a manager to handle day to day activities and help create opportunity for the artist, as well as, keep a watchful eye on finances and contractual obligations. If you feel you have reached the threshold let us know. We will utilize our network to shop you to potentially fitting management firms.

Press

Magazines

Magazines are a great tool for exposure and marketing an artist. There are large magazine companies such as Alternative Press and Vibe, in which, international artists regularly advertise new albums or tours. These spaces can be purchased by the artist or record label. Since most unsigned artists do not have the budget to purchase this space there are smaller accredited independent magazines which can do this. We will open those doors.

Webzines

Webzines are great tools for artists to gain exposure. Like radio, the digital versions are a little easier to get into but serve the same purpose for a demographic. We submit regularly to many Webzines. They expose our new up and coming artists.

Blogs

Web presence is vital for any artist. The circle we create will be completed with blogs, reviews, articles, various levels of radio rotation, licensing of music and Podcasts. You will be noted by us and the music fans that are created by exposure through us.

Content Providers

Jukeboxes, Malls, Schools, Restaurants, Airlines, Stores, Coffee Shops and Gyms

Content providers place music in a large variety of public forums. These are huge opportunities for an artist to get exposure in high traffic areas and in some cases coffee shops and tattoo parlors where the artist's album is available. We work with a variety of content providers who are always searching for more music to place in a constantly growing market.
